ughhh my puppy won't stop peeing in the house!!!

Look at this face. Such a cute, innocent looking puppy... right?

PETE WILL NOT STOP PEEING AND POOPING IN THE HOUSE!!!!!

It's absolutley driving me nuts. We previously lived in an apartment and have since moved to a much bigger loft, which has an upstairs and a downstairs. Mr. Pete {Princess, as we like to call him - for obvious reasons} thinks it's cute to sneak downstairs in the middle of the night and poop all over the floor -- the floor that I have to bleach and mop and scrub every.single.day! It's disgusting and annoys the crap out of me... this morning I even told him I was giving him back, then of course felt bad and appologized. Has anyone else dealt with this? He's 2 years old and just started doing this about 6 months ago.

Then, there's my 70 pound boxer Samson. He likes to pee on the door every time I leave to get the mail or let some one in from downstairs....... I used to think it was cute, like awww Samson gets so upset when I leave that he pees. No longer cute. But that's an entirely different rant...

We crate our dogs during the day, and I was hoping to experiment with leaving them out. But no way am I doing that if my beautiful loft is going to turn into a giant toilet!!!

  1. Hahaha...I'm sorry this title totally cracked me up.
That really does suck though :oS
My dog used to pee all over the house when we just got her, we'd normally bring her to where she did her business and give her a little flick on the snout and say in "NO, bad girl" in a mean yelling voice (which always made me so sad!) and then tel her to go to her basket...and made sure she stayed there for a while.
I hate punishing her, but it worked, she never pees or poos in the house anymore...i mean it took a few times to finally get it across to her, but eventually they learn. :o)
    good luck!

  2. I know exactly what you mean. My dog Koda - a mixed breed - was about 2 when I moved out of my mothers house and we normally left him out to run during the day with no issues...until we moved. After we moved and we would leave him out in the living room only to come home to peed and pood on carpets! We just started crating him since we thought it might have been that the carpets weren't cleaned in our apartment before we moved in and it smelled somewhat like dog pee......even after we shampooed it like 20 times! Once we moved into another place we started to let him roam again and had no issues. I assume he was peeing because he was trying to mark his territory and he never could cover up the smell......as for the poo....not sure why he did that. All I know is that he doesn't do it now! Good luck with your little fur baby!
